The weather badly disrupted the start of the twice postponed Rat Race Ultra Tour of Arran last weekend.
The twice-postponed Rat Race Ultra Tour of Arran event takes place on the island this weekend.
Rat Race Adventure Sports, organisers of the Arran Ultra Tour, a two dayracing event held annually on Arran, have confirmed that this year’s event will go ahead after last year’s race was cancelled owing to safety concerns for island residents and participants during the Covid pandemic.
The Arran Ultra Tour which was scheduled to go ahead next month has been postponed until next year following Government advice to cancel mass gatherings in excess of 500 people.
The event, staged by Rat Race Adventure Sports, had an international flavour, attracting 445 non-Scottish entrants from the UK, Denmark, Netherlands, Dubai, Germany, France, USA, Canada and Belgium.
Both days start at Brodick beach. Saturday at 8.30am and Sunday at 7.30am and it is quite a site to see all the runners heading off.
More than 500 runners will descend on Arran this weekend as runners take part in the Rat Race Ultra Tour of Arran .
