The Lamlash Splash 2020 has been cancelled this year.
The sun shone and even the tides lent a helping hand to the 40 swimmers taking part in the annual Lamlash Splash – a gruelling 1.3 mile swim from Holy Isle to Lamlash.
This year’s Lamlash Splash – a 1.3 mile swim from the Holy Isle to Lamlash Pier – will take place on Saturday September 21.
While at the Lamlash Splash the crew overheard radio communications from the Fisheries Support Vessel MINNA who had spotted an overturned dinghy south of Holy Isle.
The event raised over £1,000 for the Arran Junior Sailing Club.
All 40 places for this popular event were taken up within two weeks of being posted online.
In order to take part in this event you must be able to swim 2.2km non-stop in a pool.
A total of 38 hardy swimmers, including 11 locals, braved the cold and rain while taking part in the 16th annual Lamlash Splash.
The 1.3 mile swim starts at 11.30am from the Holy Isle pontoon.
