Lochaber Athletic Club (LAC) Juniors returned to track and field at the first of three Grampian League matches in Inverness.
The age group teams from nine to 17 years did well, with the under 13 girls’ team third in the 4 x 200 metres relay and the under 15 girls finishing second.
In her first race for the team, Eilidh Lander was fourth in the under 11 girls 100m in 18.2 seconds. She came third in the 600m and jumped 2m 38 cm in the long jump.
Fionn Flavin in the under 11 boys group also made his debut and ran 18 seconds in the 100m to take third place. He was second in the 600m and third in the long jump with 2.49m.

Team mate Grace MacMaster, 2nd under 13 girls B 100m (16.4s); 2nd high jump (1.15m).
Carys Rodgers, 3rd under 13 girls 800m (3 minutes 6s); 4th shot putt (3.37).
Nuala MacDonald, 3rd under 13 girls B 800m (3mins 18s).
Lia Marsh and Freida MacLeod were 4th and 5th respectively in the under 15 age group 100m races in 15.7s and 18.7s respectively. Lia ran well to take fourth place in the 300m sprint in 52.2s with Erin Starkey second in the B race in 56.1s.
Lia was fourth in the long jump in 3.55m while Erin was second in the B long jump in 2.95 m and second in the javelin with 9.30m.
Freida MacLeod, 2nd under 15 B javelin (6.96m); 5th B 100m (18.1s).
Elsie Lees and Carys Rodgers were 3rd in the respective A and B 200m.
Toby Smith, 2nd under 13 boys 800m (2 minutes 52 seconds); 3rd 200m (37s).
Caoihm Bellshaw, 2nd under 13 boys 200m (16.8s); 4th 200m (37s).
David Rodgers, 4th under 15 boys 800m (2 minutes 37s); 300m (51.8s); 4th shot putt (4.22m).
Archie MacDonald, 4th under 15 boys B shot putt (4.44m).
Angus Davies, 3rd under 17 mens’ 100m (14 seconds); 3rd 400m (69s); 2nd high jump (1.55m personal best).
Lochaber was third team overall in the under 13 and under 15 girl sections and in the under 13 boys.
The next track and field meeting in the series will be on June 9. Some athletes will be taking part in the North District Athletic Championships on Saturday May 11.
