Two artworks by Janelle Paton saw her lift the People’s Choice award at the recent Arran Visual Arts’ (AVA) summer exhibition at Lochranza and Catacol Village Hall.

The exhibition, highlighted in last week’s Banner, attracted more 450 visitors over the six days, and 274 of them voted for their favourite work.

Here are the top 10: 1 Janelle Paton ‘Colour and Mood’ with 38 votes; 2 Janelle Paton ‘The Hunt’ with 15 votes; 3 Karen Bell paper cut, ‘Hedgehog’ with 12 votes;
4 Lorna Ventry glass ‘Sea View’ with 11 votes;  joint 5 Susan Calder ‘Spring Bouquet’ with nine votes and Kathleen Sowden ‘Corrie Shore’ with nine votes; joint 7 Katy Penn ‘Colonsay Machair’ with eight votes and Moira Miller ‘Catch Up’ with eight votes;
joint 9 Rebecca Roberts ‘Rising Tide’ with seven votes and Barbara Rawlin ‘Loch Fyne’ with seven votes.
