This year marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of jogscotland and to celebrate the organisation is asking everyone to join in a special 20th birthday virtual 5K.
Runners on Arran joined in the event with a ‘gate to gate’ 5k along the drive at Brodick Castle on Monday night. Members from both jogscotlandarran, which meets in Whiting Bay, and the Brodick-based Arran Pacemakers took part. The weather was very kind and those who took part celebrated with birthday cake and something bubbly.
Over two decades, jogscotland has grown from a handful of pilot groups to more than 300 groups and 500 weekly jogs all over the country.
Everyone who takes part in the celebration will get one of the limited-edition medals which have been designed to feel ‘like a birthday party in a medal’. All money raised will be ploughed back into jogscotland’s work, helping more people improve their physical and mental health by getting active, and supporting the jog leaders who make it all happen.
