An Arran Select side took on team of visitors in a football friendly at Ormidale Park on Saturday with the home side winning by three goals to one.
The opponents were Kirkoswald Reserves from Cumbria, whose players are regular visitors to Arran.
Before the game, Arran were lent a couple of players from Kirkoswald, Jim and Tom, who both had a good 90 minutes and were delighted to play for Arran.
Kirkoswald started the game well with a couple of early chances including bad misses and brilliant saves from the Arran keeper. Arran grew into the game and found themselves 1-0 up. Arran continued the pressure and got two more goals finishing the half 3-0 up through Jake Young who scored twice and Grant Adamson who scored the other.
The visitors grew more into the game in the second half, enjoying most of the possession and chances, with Arran looking threatening on the break. Kirkoswald pulled one back through a Will Fielding header, but a combination of brilliant saves and the woodwork kept the score at 3-1.
Overall a good game played in great spirits. The Kirkoswald boys were happy to have the chance to play in such a beautiful place.
