Kilmarnock RFC were the victors in the Arran Malt rugby sevens tournament which took place at the Ormidale Park in Brodick last Saturday.
Last played in 2019, the annual event attracted eight other local teams who all competed for the Arran RFC Sevens Cup in changeable weather which ranged from bright sunshine to torrential rain.
The format of the tournament saw three groups of three teams competing in the play-offs with the top four teams going forward to the final, and the remaining four competing for the plate competition.
Throughout the afternoon players enjoyed fast-flowing, action-packed rugby with more supporters arriving as the day progressed and as the weather improved.
By late afternoon the final between Glasgow Accies and Kilmarnock took place in glorious sunshine with Kilmarnock managing to overpower their opponents, Glasgow Accies, with a score of 24-7.
Spectators at the event, who enjoyed food provided by The Shack and drinks from the popular beer tent, thanked Arran RC for their hospitality and expressed their delight at the tournament returning after a long break.
