The Arran Rugby Sevens are back and fans are in for a treat of fast flowing rugby action at the Ormidale Park tomorrow (Saturday).

Ten teams, including Arran, are expected to take part in the first full tournament in three years and a big crowd is expected for all the action which starts at 11.30am.

There will be food available on the day provided by The Shack and a beer tent. The forecast is mixed for tomorrow with sun, cloud and rain all predicted.

Meanwhile, the Arran players had a warm up when they played the Douglas Henderson Memorial Cup match against the NHS All Black and Blue rugby team at the Orimidale Park last Saturday. Douglas was a well-known paramedic on the island.

The match was in aid of the Ayrshire Hospice and nearly £4,000 was raised on the day.

The cup was won by the NHS team, which consists of staff from across the NHS in Scotland, but mainly from Ayrshire and Arran.
