Sunday June 5, The Tor Alvey Greensome. Five teams of two competed for the Tor Alvey Trophy, played in the Greensome format which has in the past produced some remarkably low scoring.

Played over a course in exceptionally fine condition, the 2022 competition continued that tradition with the top four teams returning sub par scores.

David Brookens and Graeme Crichton, looking anything but winners after the front nine, used the putter to great effect to score six threes in the final 10 holes to pip Stan Rainey and John Pennycott by one shot.

Result: 1 David Brookens and Graeme Crichton (14) 58, 2 Stan Rainey and John Pennycott (12) 59, 3rd Jamie Macpherson and John Simmons (9) 60. Magic twos
