The opening tournament of the new bowling season was held at Blackwaterfoot on Saturday April 23 and even the weather seemed glad to have the bowlers out in force again on the green.

A good number of members gathered to contest the opening tournament, with everyone glad that the Covid restrictions had, at last, been eased.

After a closely contested competition the trophy was retained by Marian Brambles, with fun confectionary prizes for the runners up, Brian Sherwood and Alan Scott.

An informal buffet tea was provided by the committee and other members, which was enthusiastically consumed by players and spectators.

This was a good start to a new season, and hopefully will lead to many more club and inter-club matches this summer.
