Road running returned to Brodick last Sunday with the first staging of the Ormidale 10k for three years.

A smaller field than pre-pandemic of 63 runners took on the course this year after some late call-offs due to injuries and travel disruption concerns, but conditions were perfect as it was a bright, dry day with a light wind.

The winner was Charles Bell from the North Derbyshire Running Club coming home in just 35min 12sec.

The first female over the line was Katrine Kelly from the Troon Tortoises in a time of 38min 6sec.

First local man to finish was Tom Jessop of the Arran Pacemakers in a time of 38min 20sec and the first local female was his wife Emma in a time of 45min 36sec. Both the winning male and female teams were from the Arran Pacemakers.
