With the scheduled league game against Glencairn Thistle cancelled, Arran AFC hastily arranged a friendly game against newly formed Castlepark AFC in Irvine.

The match provided both teams with some valuable training and experience and resulted in a 2 – 2 draw.

Castlepark AFC was established last year and is now fully affiliated. They will join the Ayrshire Sunday Amateur Football Association league next season.

An Arran AFC spokesperson thanked Castlepark AFC for the game and said: ‘All the best to Castlepark and we will see you in the league next season.’

Arran remain in fourth position in division one of the league table having played 13 games so far with eight wins and five losses.

The next league fixture for Arran AFC will take place on Sunday March 6, against Troon Town at Hosiery Park with a 2pm kick-off time. All supporters are welcome to attend.
