The Arran Whisky Festival is to make a welcome return later this year.
After two long years without the well-established annual malt and music festival Arran Distillers is looking forward to opening the doors to Lagg and Lochranza and welcoming everyone back in person to celebrate a weekend of whisky and friendship.
The dates for your diary are Friday June 24 to Sunday June 26, but there will be a few changes to the weekend’s schedule this year.
For the first time it will be hosting the White Stag Dinner on the Friday night and the Saturday daytime events at Lagg Distillery.
This year will be an important milestone for Lagg as its spirit will be ‘coming of age’ and Arran Distillers will be releasing its first three-year-0ld single malt Scotch whisky so it thought Lagg would be an ideal place to welcome everyone back to the island for the whisky festival weekend.
The survivor’s lunch will still be held at Lochranza Distillery on the Sunday and it will be hosted by the newly appointed distillery manager Stewart Bowman, so guests will have the opportunity to enjoy getting to know Stewart and hear about his past experience and his plans for Lochranza Distillery.
Due to ongoing uncertainly surrounding Covid it has decided not to host the Saturday evening ceilidh this year but hopes it will return in future years once there is a bit more ‘normality’ in everyone’s lives.
A spokesman for Arran Distillers said: ‘We will be releasing further information and details about our plans for the whisky festival over the next few months but we just wanted to give everyone some joyful news to kickstart a fresh new year and have something to look forward to in 2022.
‘We plan to sell tickets around end of February/early March 2022 so please keep an eye on the website, social media and our newsletter updates for further information.’
