Girdle Toll 3

Isle of Arran 2

ASAFA League

Arran AFC are in third place in the Ayrshire Sunday Amateur Football Association league despite being narrowly beaten by Girdle Toll last weekend.

Joel Small scored a brace in the match played at St Matthews playing fields in Saltcoats but the Arran side were beaten by their Irvine opposition who secured three goals

A disappointed spokesperson from Arran AFC said: ‘It was tough to take, but we were up against a good team and giving away two silly penalties was our undoing. We wish Girdle Toll all the best for the second half of the season and thank you to our match sponsor Lawson Soaps.’

Arran AFC will begin the second half of the season in third place with eight games played and 18 points.

In second place is Irvine No1 CSC with 10 games under their belts and 25 points. Grange is at the top of the table after 12 games, and with 28 points.
