A historic Arran church is launching a £200,000 restoration fund on the 200th anniversary of its founding.

Sannox Church Christian Centre will tomorrow (Saturday) launch Project 200 with a view to raising money by public donation to renovate the derelict manse attached to the church, first founded in 1822.

This weekend will also see a celebration of the reopening of the church after its successful renovation overt the last two years with a special thanksgiving service.

When it first opened the church was the only church between between Lamlash and Pirnmill serving the people of North Glen Sannox. Full story pages 12 and 13.
