It’s time for runners on Arran to look out those Santa suits and festive costumes for the 2021 Santa Dash.

An expanded dash will be held on Sunday December 12, with runners being joined by cyclists from the Arran Belles to raise money for MND Scotland.

Organised by Arran Pace Makers, this year’s 5km run around Brodick will be limited to 36 runners due to Covid restrictions. Entry costs £5. Entrants must be over 18 and signed up to jogscotland, which is free to join.

The Belles will cycle round Brodick before heading up to the castle to complete their route.

There will be prizes for best dressed and a few others on the day. Visit the Arran Pace Makers Facebook page to sign up.

The first Santa Dash was held on Arran in December 2013. Organised by the former RunArran group, it has been held, in some form, every year since – including last year when the participants got drenched. Here’s hoping for better weather this year.
