The Green Book (2018, Cert 12, 130 mins)

Peter Farelly’s film, set in 1962 America and winner of the Academy Award for best picture, best supporting actor and best screenplay, is inspired by the heart-warming true story of a working class Italian American bouncer who accepts a job as chauffeur for a world–class black pianist on a concert tour to the Deep South.

The Green Book of the title tells them which establishments will admit Afro-Americans in the racially-charged Deep South where they face adversity at every turn but in meeting racism and danger a unique and meaningful friendship develops as their initial differences are set aside.

See this hugely entertaining film in Corrie and Sannox Village Hall on Sunday November 14 at 7.30pm.
