As we tiptoe towards some form of socialising again, Whiting Bay hall are delighted to be hosting a concert with the award-winning jazz band Rose Room on Friday September 17.
Rose Room – who beautifully recreate the Hot Club Jazz and Gypsy Swing of Thirties Paris – are no strangers to Arran, their bass player – highly acclaimed guitar luthier Jimmy Moon – being an Arran resident once again, and it was he who suggested they perform here to help raise some badly needed funds for the hall, which has sadly been mothballed during this Covid pandemic.
Jimmy was a stalwart organiser/ promoter of gigs on Arran himself in decades past and was, in fact, responsible for the legendary mirror ball in Whiting Bay hall.
This really will be a wonderful evening’s entertainment, especially as the band are being joined by the amazing saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski. Due to continuing Covid-restrictions, we will be asking patrons to comply with mask-wearing from door to seat and when moving around/exiting the venue.
Tickets are available online in advance of the concert to allow organisers to better gauge numbers and plan seating accordingly. See advert below. The show starts at 7pm and limited tickets will, of course, be available on the door and card payments will also be accepted in the venue.
