Wishaw United 6
Arran AFC 1

Arran AFC suffered a 6-1 defeat against Wishaw United in the first round of The Only Sport Sunday Trophy, played at King George Park, Wishaw, on Sunday.

Archie McNicol managed to score against the on-form Wishaw United but by the final whistle it was the only goal that Arran could muster.

Wishaw United, who play in the Airdrie and Coatbridge league, posted after the game: ‘We were class today, we played some unreal footy and deserved the win. We wish the best of luck to Isle of Arran and thanks for the game.’

The next match for Arran AFC will be a return to regular league games on Sunday when the team face Troon Town at the Ardeer Juniors Stadium in Stevenston with a 1pm kick off.
