Arran AFC have made their ambitions clear with a decisive win at the Ayrshire Sunday Amateur Football Association’s league season opener against Irvine Sports Bar.

The match, sponsored by Whiting Bay Golf Club, saw the Arran team scoring an impressive eight goals against the Irvine side who countered with one goal at the Kilwinning Sports Club pitch last Sunday.

Top goalscorers in the match were Donald Park who scored four goals, along with two from Kieran Rae and a goal each from Grant Adamson and Archie McNicol.

A spokesperson from Arran AFC said: ‘Man of the match for his four goals goes to Donald Park for a solid performance. We would like to thank all of our sponsors, Whiting Bay Golf Club, Machale Engineering, Greg Cameron, and the Douglas Hotel for their support and we wish Irvine Sports Bar well for the season ahead.’

The next fixture for Arran AFC will be a home game against Girdle Toll at the Ormidale pavillion on Sunday August 15, with a kick off time of 1pm.
