Summer Challenge Tournament

Arran AFC have secured a place in the semi-finals of the Ayrshire Sunday Amateur Football Association’s Summer Challenge Tournament thanks to a goal spree by centre-forward Archie McNicol.

The match against Craigie United, which took place in Kilmarnock, saw Archie McNicol score four goals and Donald Park added another to the tally to bring the scoreline to 5-3.

Arran AFC, having now won both games in their group – Group D – will play in the tournament’s semi-finals on Sunday July 25.

The match was sponsored by Bobby Sloss Plumbing and the goal-scoring sponsors were the Douglas Hotel and Machale Engineering.

Archie McNicol was nominated as the man of the match for his goal-scoring performance and the team wish Craigie United all the best for the rest of the season.
