Man arrested

A 31-year-old man has been arrested following a disturbance in the Co-op convenience store in Brodick.

Police were called by staff complaining about disruptive customers who refused to leave the shop in Invercloy on Thursday July 1. On attendance the man was arrested for alleged breach of the peace. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

KA Leisure closed

Due to a positive Covid contact the KA Leisure Campus at Arran High School is closed until further testing results are received.

A spokeswoman said: ‘Apologies for the inconvenience but we need to keep everyone safe. Hopefully we will reopen next week.’


Three local groups have already raised more than £8,000 through members at the Co-op by Co-op own brand products in the Big Co in Brodick.

The Arran Mountain Rescue Team have received £4,363; Arran Youth Foundations £2,014; and the Isle of Arran Music School Pipe Band £1,873, with these figures increasing every day.
