They are the lockdown leavers. The youngsters who had their final year of schooling severely disrupted by the pandemic now go on to pastures new.

On a wonderfully sunny day on Monday, S6 pupils officially received their leavers hoodies at an assembly hosted by head teacher Susan Foster at Arran High School.

Each S6 pupil was presented with their lockdown leavers hoodie and a leaving  certificate by Mrs Foster, who said she was very proud of them all and impressed with the way they have coped with their last year at school through such a difficult time.

Today (Friday) is the last day for all S6 pupils at the school and this will be celebrated with an afternoon of fun and a barbecue.
