North Ayrshire Council is inviting organisations on Arran to apply for funding from the UK Community Renewal Fund to assist with efforts aimed at helping to rebuild the economy and local communities following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The fund aims to support people and communities most in need, creating opportunities to trial new approaches and innovative ideas at a local level, and to invest in skills, community and place, local business, and support people into employment.
Applicants are encouraged to maximise impact and deliverability through larger projects (£500,000+) where possible, however, the UK government anticipates supporting a range of projects of varying themes and size.
All bids must meet the necessary criteria and focus on investment in at least one of four priority areas; skills; local business; communities and place; or supporting people into employment.
North Ayrshire Council will select bids that meet the UK government’s gateway criteria that best align with their community wealth building priorities.
Mark Boyd, head of service (finance), said: ‘North Ayrshire Council, as lead authority, require to initially assess the bids prior to submission to the UK government. We hope to see some innovative and exciting submissions for funding.
‘The process from submitting a bid to delivering the project will be quick so we would encourage organisations to ensure they apply in advance of the deadline.’
The application process closes on Friday May 21 and the projects will then be shortlisted in June for the UK government to assess. The successful bids will be announced in July and projects must be delivered by March 31, 2022.
Further details about the fund can be found on the council’s website and organizations planning on submitting a bid should complete the Expression of Interest form on the website at www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/crf
