At the start of the pandemic in March we took the decision to make online access to our news free of charge by taking down our paywall. At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. In order to help safeguard the future of our journalism, the time has now come to reinstate our paywall,
However, rest assured that access to all Covid related news will still remain free. To access all other news will require a subscription, as it did pre-pandemic.
The good news is that for the whole of December we will be running a special discounted offer to get 3 months access for the price of one month. Thank you for supporting us during this incredibly challenging time.
We value our content and our journalists, so to get full access to all your local news updated 7-days-a-week – PLUS an e-edition of the Arran Banner – subscribe today for as little as 48 pence per week.
Signing up to become a Co-op member by the first of January could be very lucrative, according to a new campaign.
Those who have signed up for Co-op membership since the end of September this year have been automatically entered into a prize draw for a whopping £1,000!
‘We already have a high number of members per capita on Arran,’ says Scott Harwood, Co-op Member Pioneer for Arran. ‘But with this new incentive, there has never been a better time to take up and enjoy the benefits of membership. For example, every time you spend a pound on our own-brand products, you get two pennies returned to you on your membership card. And also, we’ll contribute two pennies to our Altogether Fairer Fund; a penny will go to your chosen local cause, plus a penny to our Community Partnerships Fund.
‘Registering for membership is easy, Scott said. ‘You can become a member via our Co-op App on your smartphone, online, or by registering a temporary card you’ve purchased in-store.;
In all 100 prizes of £1,000 each will be issued across the United Kingdom, with the exception of Northern Ireland. Prizes will be added to the winners’ membership cards in monthly increments of £100 from February to November next year.
