Arran Ladies Golf Union

It was third time lucky for ALGU Drumadoon competition at Whiting Bay Golf Club on Saturday March 14.

It had been cancelled twice previously because of gale force winds, so in the relatively balmy day on Saturday 12 ladies played.  The rain held off for the duration of the fixture and only started as we were leaving the clubhouse after John Simmons’ excellent soup and rolls.

First was Jenni Turnbull with a 68 net (86) and second Susan Butchard 71 net (BIH) from Isabel McDonald. Susan also won scratch.

Many thanks to Whiting Bay for hosting the competition in these difficult weather conditions.

Has anyone seen:  Silver Plated Salver (Drumadoon) about 10 inches across, and cut glass quaich (Runner Up Island Championship).  If so please phone Viv 860185
