The Guilty ( Denmark 2017, 85 mins, cert 15)

Corrie Film Club’s March presentation is an interesting film from Denmark.

Asger is a police officer who enters a race against time when he answers an emergency call from a kidnapped woman. Soon he realises that he is dealing with a crime far more complex than he thought.

The Guardian says of this film: ‘A multi-award-winning debut, The Guilty, is a masterclass in wringing breathless tension from just a few key ingredients. The film takes place in two rooms, and the story unfolds in a series of phone calls. A police officer temporarily assigned to emergency dispatch duty takes a desperate call from a kidnapped woman. The 75 minutes that follow are so taut, that you almost forget to breathe.’

A nerve-racking thriller in sound Scandi-noir tradition and definitely worth watching.

See this film in Corrie and Sannox Hall tomorrow night (Sunday) at 8pm. All welcome.
