A new weekly programme called What’s Happening on Arran has started to gather a loyal following with over 3,000 people viewing the local broadcast every week.
The Facebook broadcast, shown live at 4pm each Sunday, is hosted by Graham Chappell and Heather Macleod, and is also available for viewing after the live broadcast both on Facebook and YouTube.
The informal show looks at all of the topical subjects of the week, from the headlines in the Arran Banner to the local weather, and, unsurprisingly, includes ferry news, competitions and audience interaction by means of the real-time comments section.
Guests are also featured on the show and the five episodes that have been broadcast so far have included artists, musicians, prominent characters and many well known faces.
The show has a very relaxed feel with the presenters contributing personal anecdotes, opinions and a fair amount of mirth without taking themselves too seriously or delving in local politics.
Described by a reviewer as ‘upbeat, relaxed and all about Arran,’ the show is just under an hour long and can be found by searching for @arranlive or What’s happening on Arran on Facebook.
