Beach Buddies Arran carried out their most successful day in both numbers attending, and rubbish collected, last Sunday.

The day started with 21 adults and some kids and dogs from around the island doing  a last minute beach clean at Blackwaterfoot beach. It had be reported to them that a substantial amount of rubbish had been washed up in recent storms, and whilst some had been washed back out to sea and, locals had been picking up rubbish on their daily walks, a substantial amount of rubbish was removed.

In the afternoon 20 adults, plus kids and dogs  including an  impressive number of Imachar/Whitefarland residents carried out a beach clean at the beautiful Imachar shore. A huge  haul of rubbish including many damaged lobster creels was removed.

Many thanks to all who turned up and helped with our  most successful day of cleaning to date. Check the group facebook page Beach Buddies Arran for details of their next clean at a venue to be decided in February. The groups thanks to sponsors Isle of Arran Dairy Ice Cream and the Parlour Brodick for their continued support.
