Charlie’s Bar 8

Arran AFC 2

League Division 1

Arran AFC started the first game of the new year on the wrong foot after suffering a 8-2 defeat by Charlie’s Bar at Kilwinning Sports Club last weekend.

While the result was not the preferred outcome  a spokesman for the club said: ‘Bad day at the office today, Charlie’s Bar were the much better team from start to finish and we wish them all the best for the season.’

Isle of Arran AFC remain fourth in the league table with 18 points, just one point behind Kilbirnie United. Killie Athletic are currently in the top spot with 24 points and Irvine CSC are in second place with 21 points.

The next fixture for Arran AFC will be tomorrow (Sunday) when they face league leaders Killie Athletic at St Josephs Academy, Kilmarnock with a kick off time of 2.30pm.
