Arran AFC enjoyed a comfortable win over Troon Town at Hosiery Park, Troon last weekend in their final game in the Ayrshire Sunday League before the winter break.

Helping the side to finish in fine style goal scorers Archie McNicol and Ryan Armstrong both scored hat-tricks while Johnny Sloss scored a brace.

Ryan Armstrong was also nominated as man of the match for his commanding and versatile performance in centre midfield.

A spokesman for the club said: ‘As we finish for the winter break we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved and supported us throughout the season so far.’

Arran are currently sitting in fourth position in the league tables with 15 points and having played five games. Irvine CSC are at the top of the table with 21 points having played three more games. Killie Athletic are in second place with 18 points and six games while Kilbirnie United, in third spot, is just one point ahead of Arran with 16 points after seven games.
