Auchrannie Resort has been saying a huge thank you to its many guests who have so far donated £172,000 to the Arran Trust – the island’s visitor gifting scheme which funds projects which focus on the landscapes and environment of Arran.

For a number of years now Auchrannie has been giving guests the option of donating £1 to the trust for each night they stay, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and supportive.

Reception and reservations manager Alix Basford said: ‘When we take time to explain to our guests the amazing work that the Arran Trust do and the benefits to the island, they are only too happy to support this great cause. They totally understand that their small donations go a huge way to keeping Arran such a special place to visit.’

Resort director Richard Small added: ‘It really is remarkable that all the individual one pounds donated have added up to such an incredible total. It goes without saying that Auchrannie are immensely proud of our guests for raising so much cash and supporting so many worthwhile projects.’

The Arran Trust funds projects which look after the environment of Arran; working alongside businesses and community groups to improve sustainable practices and aiming to safeguard the future of this beautiful island.
