The Labour man tasked with toppling Patricia Gibson from her SNP seat in the next general election has been named as Cameron Gilmore from West Kilbride.
Cameron was announced as the candidate after being selected by Labour party members across North Ayrshire and Arran and he will be looking to win back the seat which was occupied by Labour’s Katy Clark which was won by Patricia Gibson in 2015.
Cameron is a Stirling University graduate where he studied politics and journalism, he has been an active campaigner for Better than Zero and Labour for a Green New Deal.
The candidate said: ‘It’s a real honour to be selected to run in what will be the most important election in decades and I’m just so proud to be representing my home constituency.
‘I’m very much looking forward to getting on the campaign trail, meeting as many of you as possible and hearing whatever issues or concerns you may have and most of all fighting for Labour values.’
