Insyriated (2107), Belgium, 15

Corrie Film Club’s September offering is Insyriated, a powerful, chilling and fast moving study of a Syrian household under siege.

Directed by Philippe Van Leeuw this film is gripping from start to finish. Trapped inside her house in a city under siege, a mother of three turns her flat into a safe fortress for her family and neighbours to protect them from the war outside. Gradually, as bombs threaten to destroy the building and snipers turn the courtyards into death traps, maintaining the thin visage of routine inside the walls becomes a matter of life and death.

See this tautly constructed film in Corrie and Sannox Village Hall tomorow (Sunday) at 8pm. All welcome.
