Here are the Arran High School students who gained five Highers in the recent SQA exams in another good achievement year for the school.

Head teacher Barry Smith said: ‘We are delighted that once again the students of Arran High School have performed very well in their SQA examinations.  Although we do not have our official Insight statistics update from the Scottish government yet, our own calculations tell us that it has been another successful year at both National 5 and Higher level.  A total of 30 per cent of our S5 students achieved five Highers this year and there were many more excellent results for students in S4 and S6.

‘I would like to congratulate our young people on their success and thank our hard working teaching and support staff who always “go the extra mile” to help our youngsters achieve to the best of their ability.  Our ongoing strong performance in SQA examinations means that our youngsters leave school knowing they are well prepared to take successful next steps in life.’

Eilidh Hamill and Hannah McCartney both got five As and the other pupils who gained five Highers were: Rhodri Herapath, Elyse Aitken, Cara Crawford, Laurie Miller, Daisy Urquhart-Dixon, Finlay Elliott, Kirk Inglis, Ellie Wood, Robbie Milton and, not pictured, William Downing. 01_B35Higher01
