Arran kicks off the season with cup win over Grange

League Cup group A
Arran started their new season in the Ayrshire Sunday Amateur Football Association League with a League Cup win against Grange Amateurs at Kilwinning on Sunday.
Arran started well and were 2-0 up early on through a great finish from Donny Park and then an own goal from Grange.
In the second half Joel Small furthered the lead when he calmly finished from inside the box to make it 3-0. Grange fought their way back into the game and were awarded a penalty when Joel was judged to have handballed inside the box. Despite a great effort in goal from David Heenan the ball wound up in the back of the net. Grange then made it 3-2 shortly after and Arran were starting to look very nervy.
Goal scoring talisman Archie McNicol settles the nerves though and scored with 10 minutes to go to make the final score 4-2.
Arran have a trip away to Vale of Leven this Sunday to compete in the West of Scotland Cup against Argyle Wanderers. There are spaces on the bus, if any supporters want to join them they should contact the team.
