Arran Dairies League

Lamlash 5 Brodick 1

Lamlash managed to get there first win over Brodick in many years in the league on Monday night and they did it emphatically.

With Brodick struggling as the season goes on Lamlash took full advantage and showed no mercy to their old rivals. Once again it was Lamlash Talisman Johnny Sloss who was at the heart of things. Johnny scored an impressive hat-trick and took his goal tally for the season to 16.

Ben Tattersfield was also on the scoresheet for the home side along with midfielder Matt. Babbies MacNeil got Brodick’s only goal of the game. Unsurprisingly Johnny got yet another man of the match and the Arran AFC player of the year is looking to add another player of the year award to his cabinet from the association.

Lamlash and Brodick still have faint hopes of catching Southend in the league if Southend lose both their remaining fixtures against the respective teams.

Magnificent seven for Southend

Northend 1  Southend 7

Southend continued their 100 per cent league record with a comfortable win in Lochranza.

Ryan Armstrong and Liam Bremner each got two goals while Gregor Crichton, James Mutch and an own goal from John Ferguson completed the scoring. Stuart Logan got Northend’s solo goal. Corey Allan was given man of the match for a brilliant performance from left back.

A big thanks to both referees in the games. Stuart Campbell and Jean Demazeux both had to step in last minute as Shiskine failed to provide referees. Time will tell if Shiskine can fulfil their remaining league fixtures as their players, unfortunately, seem to have lost interest.
