The sail training ship Thalassa is a fairly regular sight in Arran waters, but is usually seen anchored in Lamlash Bay. However, reader Jim Arnold took this photograph of the three-masted Barque at Lochranza Pier last Friday.
‘Having to climb the rigging and work the sails must be a somewhat different experience from being on one of the large cruise liners I see passing Whiting Bay that have been up to call at Greenock,’ Jim remarked.
