Over the weekend of June 8 and 9 the exhibition Scotland: a Peace of History exhibition, celebrating 60 years of CND activism in Scotland, will be here on Arran. It will be displayed at the gallery upstairs in Arran Active, Brodick between 10am and 3pm on the Saturday and Sunday of that weekend.

Are you a past member of Arran CND or one of the groups which were aligned to it?

In the 1980s and 1990s, in particular, and at other times since, Arran has had a large and active CND membership. A number of other groups sprang from this or were associated with it including Arran for a Non-Nuclear Future, Arran Against the Bomb and Arran Peace and Justice group.

Alongside the Peace of History exhibition, outlined above, the current CND group on Arran is planning to have a section featuring photos, memorabilia, written and verbal memories and other information about these Arran-based groups. Were you a member of one of these groups and have you kept any material about the activities which the groups took part in?

If you can help by loaning any material you have, or would like more information about the exhibition, please contact Cheryl Burgess at nick.cheryl25@btinternet.com

All items will be returned to you after the event. Please help to make this a successful and informative event.
