Arran Junior Triathlon Club (AJTC), which continues to go from strength to strength, has issued an open invitation for young members to try triathlon activities at their Come and Tri events over the next week.

Training will be provided by Blair Cartmell who was the lead performance coach for the Scottish triathlon team at the Commonwealth Games.

The open sessions are part of the SportScotland Clubs Open Doors week which takes place from Sunday 23 to Sunday September 30. On Arran there will be three sessions to provide children, young people and parents the chance to ‘Come and Tri’ out the sport, as well as answering any questions you may have.

The first session on Thursday September 27 will be the swimming portion at the Auchrannie Hotel pool between 8pm and 9pm. Swimmers must be able to confidently swim at least two lengths front crawl. The running portion will take place at Arran High School on Tuesday October 2, between 4pm and 4.45pm. The cycling and run event will take place on Sunday September 30 at Arran High School between 9.45am and 11am. Bring your own bike if you have one.

Blair Cartmell can be contacted on Blair@newtriathlon.com if you wish your child to try any of these sessions.
