Lamlash Church is delighted to welcome back Douglas Bruce for another organ recital which will take place tomorrow (Sunday) at 3pm, lasting about an hour.
Last year 80 people attended and Douglas gave a wonderful recital with his own blend of humour, informing the audience about the various composers.
Douglas donated £400 to the church as well as a grant of £250 from a European trust. Proceeds from Sunday’s concert will to to the maintenance of the church organ.
Douglas, who spent the week on holiday on Arran, was born in Perth and now lives in Switzerland. He is a renowned organist who has played in
some of the world’s major cathedrals throughout Europe and
the USA. He is playing in Ukraine before coming to Lamlash.
His programme will include Bach, Fugue in E flat; Dubois, Toccata; Rawsthorne, Aria; Mendelssohn, On Wings of Song and Haydn, Pieces for Musical Clocks.
