May has proven to be a kind month for members of the Brodick Bowling Club who have enjoyed a month of rink games in fine weather.
The opening day of the season bode well for the month ahead as it too was a lovely sunny day, and a good turnout of 22 bowlers enjoyed a full set of rink games without a midge in sight. The afternoon was completed with refreshments in the newly re-decorated clubhouse.
Best rink games scores for the first month of the season were: April 28, Lavinia Hendry, Jim Gourlay and Kenny Mabon +21; April 30, Robert Crawford, Kenny Mabon and Ann Hollingworth +15.

The club is very keen to recruit new members of all ages – all you need is enthusiasm, everything else, bowls and tuition included can be provided if you go along any Monday or Wednesday evening for a 6.45pm start, or Saturdays for 2pm. Alternatively, you can call in any weekday from 10.30 to 4pm and try the game out for yourself as the bowling green and adjoining tennis courts are open to the public all week.
