Arran’s Ernie Weir is one of the heavy athletes taking part in the Gourock Highland Games at Battery Park this weekend.
He is one of the eight strong field taking part in the games which will be held tomorrow (Sunday) which also includes regular Brodick Highland Games competitor Pete Hart, originally from New Zealand. while the 2017 overall winner Polish born Lucas Wenta returns to defend his trophy at the event which starts the Scottish Highland Games season.
The heavy-athletes will be competing in a range of activities including the caber toss and lifting the Kempock Stane.
