The winter season of the Arran Bridge Club was wound up with a prize-giving and dinner at Brodick Golf Club where members were also celebrating the addition of seven new members joining the group.

The following prizes were presented:

The Peggy Currie Cup (teams of four) – Fiona Crawford, Maureen Cumming, Trish Martin and David Campbell. Runners up – Jennifer McArthur and Jean Barclay, John and Jan Beattie.

The Adam Morrison Cup ( prepared hands) – John and Jan Beattie. Runners up – Janie Maclure and Anne McKelvie.

The Duncan Cup – Douglas Hamilton and Trish Martin. Runners up – Anne McKelvie and Janie Maclure.

The Boyd Trophy (match points) – Jan and John Beattie. Runners up – Anne McKelvie and Janie Maclure.

Adam Morrison Trophy (aggregate points) – David Campbell and Trish Martin. Runners up – Jan and John Beattie.

The McConnell Trophy – David Campbell and Trish Martin. Runners up – Jan and John Beattie.

Recent results prior to the end of the season included:

The results of the aggregate competition played at Lamlash on Monday March 19 were as follows: EW 1 Jan and John Beattie, 2 Ellie Jones and Alison Bilsland, 3 Jean Barclay and Jennifer McArthur.

The results of the Boyd Trophy round six played at Brodick on Thursday March 22 were as follows: 1 Tricia Martin and Douglas Hamilton, 2 Jan and John Beattie, 3 Douglas and Margaret Bruce, 4 Alison Bilsland and Elaine Duncan.

The results of the aggregate competition played at Lamlash on Monday March 26 were as follows: NS 1 Douglas and Margaret Bruce, 2 John Baraclough and Jim Peacock, 3 Pat Adamson and Fiona Henderson. EW 1 Margaret MacGill and Elizabeth McKellar, 2 Janie Maclure and Anne McKelvie, 3 Tricia Martin and David Campbell.

The Summer bridge season will now commence every Monday with the first meeting taking place on Monday April 16 at Arran High School at 6.15pm.
