The opening of the newly upgraded Brodick ferry terminal has been postponed for a second time and it has emerged that the building will not be operational until next month.

The official opening ceremony was due to take place on Monday November 27, by which time the terminal was expected to be operational and open to the public.  However, the new passenger access system has not yet received its final CE marking for operation due to a defect in the automatic door closure.

The ceremony  has also been postponed as a mark of respect due to the death of prominent Arran landowner Stephen Gibbs of Dougarie Estate, who died last Sunday aged 88.  A service of thanksgiving for Mr Gibbs  is due to take place at the same time.
