Lochranza’s firework extravaganza is being planned – and it has a new home.

On Friday November 3 Lochranza Castle will be lit up and fireworks will be launched out over the sea in what should be spectacular display organised by the Lochranza and Catacol village hall committee, who successfully revived the village gala day back in July.

The bonfire and fireworks night begin at 7pm, with music, a barbecue and bar on the green next to the hall.

A committee spokesman said: ‘Some traditions end and new ones begin. We would like to thank Dave Ashcroft and all the staff at Catacol Bay Hotel for providing a fantastic bonfire and fireworks displays for many years.

‘This year the Lochranza and Catacol event finds a new home at the village hall. We hope to be able to ‘light up’ the castle for this evening extravaganza and hope you can join us. It should be a great night – the first of many.’
