Brodick FC warmed up for the new season with a friendly against Carradale AFC at Ormidale Park on Saturday.

The island’s 2016 champions have been keeping the players’ feet in this
winter playing seven-a-side, but they were no match for the West of Scotland Amateur Football League side. They put up a brave fight despite going down 4-1.

A Carradale spokesman said: ‘It was quite a bruising game with tough tackles but great sportsmanship. We want to thank the Brodick club for their hospitality at the Ormidale hotel and hope to see them
in Kintyre in late July or August.’
