Jazz guitarist Marcus Ford will be performing at the Arran Lodge at Altachorvie in Lamlash where he is sure to delight with his inimitable style on Wednesday April 5.

As a solo player, he has a cool, intimate style that is as tastefully luxurious as it is self-contained. While it is tempting as a guitarist to emulate horn players with blistering single note runs, Marcus is influenced by a more orchestral approach afforded by the classical guitar.

His tastefully luxurious tone, lush harmony and full swinging sound have become a trademark of his playing. He has performed all over the world, including Germany, Italy, China and is a regular face on the Scottish jazz scene playing with his trio and as a solo performer.

His album Going Solo was well received and featured a duo track alongside one of the world’s leading jazz guitarist, Martin Taylor, who has been one of Marcus’s biggest influences.

The show starts at 7.30pm.
