arran cist corrie quarryHuman remains from the early Bronze Age have been discovered in a cist found on Arran.

A two-year forensic archaeological study has dated the remarkable find to the years 2154-2026BC and helped provide a window into the complex and varied mortuary practices of the ancient time in Scotland.

The cist was one of two found at a disused part of a quarry in Sannox in March 2012.
