Stonemasons Graham Boyd and Robert Smith repairing the Glenashdale bridge.

The sandstone bridge at Glenashdale has been repaired.

This old bridge was badly damaged when vehicles were in collision with it in two separate incidents on 10 December and 4 January.

Concerns had been expressed by local residents that the decorative old masonry would be replaced with metal railings as had previously been done on the seaward side of the bridge.

But all last week stonemasons Graham Boyd and Robert Smith have been carefully reconstructing the sandstone wall.
